Two AccessPoint client programs ("acsalmb" and "acsalmp") and a program developer's toolkit are available to monitor the contents of the internal Alarm List.
The client programs are configured via a file named "acsalm.cfg".
The client programs allow the user to monitor the Alarm List in Zones defined by GS Lists.
The client programs allow for audible alarm monitoring by either causing the local "computer bell" to be beeped or by causing a specified serial port to be opened when unacknowledged alarms are present in a specified associated Zone.
In addition, the "acsalmp" program allows changes in the Alarm List to be printed to specified Unix devices (which may be files or ports, which may be attached to printers).
The Toolkit allow developers to produce custom applications that monitor the Alarm List. The Toolkit is a subset (or piece) of the all encompassing Advanced Application Toolkit (AAT). One example of a program developed using the Alarm Handler Toolkit is a client process that uses a single parallel port to produce up to eight (8) audible Zone alarms by manipulating the individual data lines.
